Don't ignore a problem or explain away a vice;
air it out in Congress and you'll come out smelling nice.
The senators will listen to your bland remarks with poise,
and then they'll add right to it with a lot of dull white noise.
Drag it out for weeks and months; when media grows bored,
they'll find another story that more int'rest will afford.
You've done your civic duty and your testimony stands,
firm as any tumbleweed upon the shifting sands.
